1. What cookies are
Cookies are small text files a website stores in your browser. Similar technologies, such as localStorage, let a site remember small pieces of information on your device. In this policy, "cookies" covers both.
This policy explains which cookies ByNiche (https://byniche.app), operated by By Code Software (Atıf Doğan Özcan), uses and why. For how we handle personal data in general, see our privacy policy.
2. Our approach
- We use only strictly necessary cookies and storage, needed to provide the service you asked for.
- We do not use advertising, retargeting or social media tracking cookies.
- We do not track you across other websites or sell data about your browsing.
- Our website analytics are cookieless (a privacy-friendly tool such as Umami or Plausible). They count visits in aggregate without storing anything on your device and without identifying you.
Because strictly necessary cookies are exempt from consent under the EU ePrivacy rules and similar laws, we don't ask for cookie consent. If we ever add optional cookies, we will ask for your consent first and update this page.
3. Cookies and storage we use

Clerk may add a suffix to its cookie names and, during sign-up, may use bot protection (such as Cloudflare Turnstile) that sets strictly necessary security cookies. Clerk's handling of data is described in its own privacy policy.
4. Third-party pages
- Payments: when you check out, the payment form is provided by our payment provider, currently Paddle, acting as merchant of record. Paddle may set its own cookies on its checkout to process the payment and prevent fraud, under its own cookie policy.
- Google sign-in: if you choose to sign in with Google, Google's pages may set cookies under Google's policies.
- YouTube images: thumbnails and channel pictures are loaded from YouTube/Google image servers. Loading an image sends your browser's standard request data (such as IP address) to those servers, but we do not embed YouTube players or tracking scripts.
5. Managing cookies
You can block or delete cookies and localStorage in your browser settings. If you block the authentication cookies, you won't be able to sign in. If you delete bn-lang or bn-theme, ByNiche will simply fall back to your browser's language and your system theme.
